@ashfann Oh am I thankful to receive such wonderful feedback! I am so happy that this video is useful to you! I created a whole series of videos that I designed to help me lose the 55 pounds I gained during my pregnancy! This video is a great starter and once you feel familiar with all these poses, I invite you to check out the other classes. They build off this one and increase in intensity and effectiveness for losing weight. Please keep me posted! I am here to help!
I loved this. I’ve learned many of these poses on my own through books, but my problem was getting bored and not following through with the routines I set for myself. I like the pace, it keeps me moving so that I actually feel like I’m getting a workout, and keeps my attention. I’m at 165lbs now, getting in shape for my wedding next year, and hopefully this will help me along the way!
This was so great, thank you!
Thank you for this class. I have been practicing yoga for about 10 years and I do love a flow class. The pace and flow really helps to bring me to a present state of awareness. Being in the present brings me peace and that is what I love about yoga! It is helpful to have a knowledge of basic yoga poses and how they , along with the breath interconnect with one another. I will do this class again. The length is perfect for me to carve out some time and fit yoga into my day.
@taboolah The style of yoga here is called vinyasa flow yoga. Typically, this is a very fast paced, dynamic style.. I actually really slowed it down for this video, as I had a baby two months before shooting this video! I suggest you to watch it through one time, to become familiar with the poses and get a sense of the flow. Also, keep in mind the class should be a lot easier for you to follow the 3rd or 4th time you do it. Let me know how it goes! Patience and practice make the magic happen!
this is not easy …r u trying to show off!!!
also why is it s fast
Thank you I enjoyed the pace
@yetiamchosen Hi! I totally understand! It was really challenging for me when I was a new student too! I suggest you to watch the class to see what’s being asked of you before you do it again. This style of yoga is called vinyasa flow yoga. It is typically a very dynamic, fast paced style. Please see Tara Dale’s Yoga Basics for a video that’s slower paced! Overall, it’s been my experience that the western mind needs a good ‘whippin’ in order to be able to relax! Hence, my fast flow! Good luck!
I have to agree with other comments I’m seeing – I just got a mat out and did this, my first yoga experience, the full way through. It feels like a race! I’m a male in good shape and in my prime, but I really feel like everything that was just done should take an hour – not thirty minutes. Perhaps it would have been easier if I already knew all the poses. Any suggestions, please feel free to send me a youtube message.
I started with this one and i love it but just a little to fast. I and going to do your “Yoga Flow 101: Beginners Flow Style” as it is a little slower and then i will move back to this one once i have familiarized my self with the poses a little better thank you for the great work out.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this! I really appreciate the approach for beginners (like me) and the cues were really helpful, and the pony tail comment made me laugh ;-p I liked the length of the workout for a before work kind of thing, and I feel great afterward. I look forward to checking out your other videos
@rda976 I am sooo happy you enjoy this video! Thank you for sharing. Yes, please keep me posted on your progress. I am delighted that you found yoga!
After looking at several yoga videos on youtube, i’ve found…the one. THIS ONE! I’m so pleased with the level of difficulty, pace, the narrators voice…perfection. So many others I’ve seen rush through and the people are bone skinny! it was nice to see a “regular” looking person doing is effectively and almost effortlessly. I’m starting out at 160 lbs….I’ll check back periodically with my progress. Great video!
@HolmTV Thanks a lot!
Will let you know after 3 weeks!
@satkavi1990 Hi! A steady yoga practice can absolutely assist with weight loss. And muscle tone, strength, flexibility, as well as help you stay in a good mood, positive, happy, sleep better, be nicer.. The list goes on and on! At the time of shooting this video I was 170lbs and now, 6 months later am down to 135 and I credit my yoga practice. You need to put in the work though. I recommend at least 3 times a week. Do this class 3 times a week for three weeks and let me know how it’s going!
Hi! I’m familiar with almost all yoga poses. I’ve been doing it on-off. Does this help lose weight?
Wacoflier: I am so glad this video is a good fit for you. My mom has Fibro so I am very familiar with it. Don’t be shy about pausing the class periodically to slow it down a bit if needed. Yoga is about meeting us where we are at in each and every moment. Thanks for sharing!
I agree. This is a very good video! As a fibromyalgia sufferer, I find the skill level and the pace ideal for daily stretching. It’s easy to follow and the narration is soothing as well. Thank you for posting.
@raji852
Hi! I am so glad you enjoy it! I hear you about the speed – my main intention was to create a class that was short but effective. I do tend to move pretty fast though, even in an hour and a half long class! Let me know if as you get more familiar wtih the routine, it’s meeting your needs and if not, I’ll see about posting something with less poses but longer holds. Wishing you well! Kathleen
Hi,
this is a very good video, I am following it everyday! Although I wish the same exercise could have been a little longer than 30 minutes… because in between, I would like to hold on certain poses and take full advantages of the stretches, which I find difficult to do so with your speed.
However, this is a great video and I am very happy for this one
